Wellington Floorball Open

WFO 2025 (19-21 September)

Get ready for the 2025 edition of the Wellington Floorball Open - team registrations are now open! Players who would like to play for a Storm team can fill out the individual registration.

What: New Zealand's largest floorball tournament
When: 19-21 September
Where: Ākau Tangi Sports Centre
Who: Social and competitive players (born in 2009 or earlier, or at least year 11 at school)
Cost: $850 per team

About the event

Elite Grade:
Players must be born in 2009 or earlier, or be in year 11 at school.
Teams can have a maximum of 18 players including coaches and team staff.

• 5v5 plus goalies
• Full sized court
• Preliminary games: 3 x 12min.
• Play-off games: 3 x 12min.

Open Grade:
Players must be born in 2009 or earlier, or be in year 11 at school.
Teams can have a maximum of 16 players including coaches and team staff.

• 5v5 plus goalies
• Full sized court
• Preliminary games: 2 x 12min.
• Play-off games: 3 x 12min.

Other key info:

• A goalie is allowed to be substituted and then continue to play as a field player in the same game.
• Teams need to have matching shirts/colours. Numbers are compulsory.
• Mixed teams are allowed for both grades.
• A player can only represent one team in the tournament.
• A player licensed with Floorball NZ who wishes to play in the WFO tournament for an Elite grade team other than from the club that the player is licensed from, needs to have the written permission from the club they are licensed to.
• This permission needs to be presented to the WFO Tournament Organising committee before the start of the tournament otherwise the player will not be eligible to play for the team they are not licensed for.
